Holy Spirit Catholic School Division is pleased to announce that Mrs. Mary Tilleman has accepted the role of Principal for St. Patrick School in Taber, effective this coming 2024/2025 school year.
Mrs. Tilleman attained her joint Bachelor’s Degrees in Arts and Education from the University of Lethbridge in 2015, majoring in Kinesiology and Physical Education. She went on to complete her Masters of Educational Leadership from the University of Lethbridge in 2024.
With 10 years of educational experience, Mary began her education career at Wilson Middle School in Lethbridge as an Educational Assistant. She then spent two years as a Child Development Worker with Kid Zone from 2013-2015 and briefly taught Grade ½ at Lethbridge School Division in 2016. Mary started at St. Patrick School in 2016 as a Grade 1 Teacher. In 2022, she took on the role of Associate Principal at St. Patrick School.
“I’m very excited for the St. Patrick School community to have such a passionate, visionary and faith-filled leader at the helm to begin leading the school next year,” states Superintendent of Schools, Mr. Ken Sampson. “Mary's comprehensive understanding of the dynamics of student learning, effective classroom instruction and assessment practices will serve her well in her new position.”
“I am honoured and excited to accept the position of Principal at St. Patrick School,” said Mrs. Tilleman. “Having served as the Associate Principal for the past three years, and previously teaching Grade 1 at this wonderful school, I have developed a deep connection with our school community. St. Patrick School holds a special place in my heart, and I am thrilled for the opportunity to serve and lead this community in my new role.”
Mary has a strong relationship with St. Augustine’s parish in Taber and believes that Catholic schools foster a sense of belonging and acceptance that is unparalleled. In her free time, she enjoys playing soccer, curling, and golfing with her husband.
